Das World Update 16 mit der Karibik ist da. Es deckt einen breiten Streifen karibischer Gebiete ab, darunter Antigua, Aruba, die Bahamas, Barbados, die Britischen Jungferninseln, die Kaimaninseln, die Dominikanische Republik, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaika, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts und Nevis, Trinidad und Tobago, sowie die amerikanischen Jungferninseln. WU16 kann ab sofort kostenlos über den Marktplatz des Microsoft Flight Simulators heruntergeladen werden.

Davor ist im Installationsmanager noch ein Update fällig.

Microsoft hat sich mit Bing Maps, Maxar und einer Vielzahl karibischer Regierungsorganisationen zusammengetan, um Simmern dieses kostenlose Update zur Verfügung zu stellen. Das Team hat für das World Update 16 einen riesigen Fundus an Geodaten erfasst, darunter Luftbilder, Satellitendaten, LIDAR-Daten (Light Detection and Ranging), DEM-Daten (Digital Elevation Model) und DTM-Daten (Digital Terrain Model).
